Greetings from the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane! This message is for all U.S. Citizens in the Luang Prabang area.
On April 28, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., a Consular Officer will be available in the lobby at the Avani Luang Prabang Hotel to answer questions related to American Citizen Services offered at the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane. All U.S. citizens in the area are invited to visit for consular consultations, apply to renew passports, or obtain notary services. The Consular Officer cannot provide services for U.S. Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs) during the visit. All U.S. citizens seeking a CRBA should contact CONSLao@state.gov to receive instructions and schedule an appointment.
Passport renewal customers must complete the proper U.S. passport application form and provide a current passport, a photocopy of the passport biodata page, a 2 x 2 (51 x 51 mm) passport photo taken within the past six months, and exact payment in cash (LAK or USD). Additional rules apply for applicants for renewal of a child’s passport. Please see our website for complete instructions: https://la.usembassy.gov/passports/
Please note that the completed passport must be picked up in person at the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane.
