Vientiane, Laos (September 15, 2023) – The Defense POW / MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) held a ceremony for National POW/MIA Recognition Day at U.S. Embassy Vientiane. The DPAA ceremony was organized in honor of American service members who were held captive and returned, those who were missing and have been found, as well as those who still remain missing in Laos. “As we mark this solemn occasion today, may we all pledge our continued commitment to work to account for the 288 Americans still missing and provide closure and comfort to their families and loved ones,” said CDA Michelle Y. Outlaw.
