U.S. Ambassador to Laos Daniel Clune Welcomes U.S. Embassy’s New Deputy Chief of Mission

On August 29, U.S. Ambassador to Laos Daniel Clune hosted a reception to welcome the U.S. Embassy’s new Deputy Chief of Mission Michael Kleine, who recently arrived in Vientiane.  Government officials from various ministries attended the reception at Ambassador Clune’s residence.   In his remarks, Michael Kleine highlighted cooperation between the United States and Laos in numerous sectors including health care, education, justice sector reform, and environmental protection, as well as ongoing UXO clearance.  He also emphasized his eagerness to support the US Embassy’s work in strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
