U.S. Embassy Vientiane joined together with the Lao Youth Union to conduct life skill training programs for teachers and youth leaders.  The programs ran concurrently between August 25 and 29 and provided participants with an opportunity to share life experiences, develop skills, and learn about child development and risk factors for drug use.

Somkiao Kingsada Deputy Permanent Secretary thanked the U.S. Embassy and the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program, which provided instructors for the program, for assisting Lao Youth Union. This training, he said, will improve the skill of our teachers and youth leaders.  It is very valuable for the development of human resources in Laos and shows our strong commitment in fighting drug in our society and community, he said.
