
Dr. Jill Biden, the wife of the Vice President of the United States, will visit Laos on July 21-22, 2015. She’ll be traveling with Catherine Russell, the U.S. ambassador-at-large for Global Women’s Issues and will engage government and civil society partners on issues related to economic empowerment and educational opportunities for women and girls. This historic visit demonstrates the United States’ continued commitment to expanding its relationship with Laos.
During her visit to Asia, Dr. Jill Biden will also travel to the Republic of Korea and Vietnam on July 16-20 where she where she will focus on the same themes of women’s empowerment and education. Following her visit to Laos she will travel to Japan on July 22-23.
The wife of Vice President Joe Biden, Dr Jill Biden is strong supporter of education and women’s issues. An educator herself, Dr. Biden is especially committed to promoting education, and continues to teach as a full-time English professor at a community college in Northern Virginia.
